Wait, how do I RSVP again?

Schedule, What to Wear

What are the plans for the weekend? When are things happening?

Details of the schedule will be outlined on the Weekend Schedule page. Upon arrival, you will also receive a detailed itinerary for the weekend.

What should I wear? What does "festive attire" mean?

Think Cocktail Attire — well dressed, but not overly formal — with a little more fiesta!

Feel free to wear bold colors, patterns, accent jewelry, a cool pocket square, killer sunglasses, or anything else that feels fun and festive!

For women, this could mean anything from your “little black dress” to dress pants or a skirt and blouse.

For men, anything from a shirt and slacks to a suit will work — but don’t feel like you have to wear a tie.

Remember: the ceremony will be on the beach and the reception is outside, so go with flat shoes or wedges over heels.

What About Gifts?

Do you have a wedding registry?

We greatly appreciate everyone taking the effort to travel to Mexico, and as such, we are kindly requesting no gifts. Having all of you at our wedding is truly the best possible present!

Nonetheless, we recognize that some people might insist on marking the occasion with a gift, and so we have registered for a selection of kitchen and home items that we hope to gather over the years:

Please Note: We request any gifts be shipped to the address listed in the registries. We will have very limited space on the way home!

Getting Around

What's the best way to get to Todos Santos from the Los Cabos Airport?

You'll have a number of options for ground transportation to Todos Santos! Go to the Travel Info page to see our recommendations for car rentals, buses, and car service.

Will there be transportation from my hotel to the ceremony and reception?

Yes! In fact, we ask that all guests take the shuttles that will be provided to the ceremony and reception location. Shuttles will pick-up guests at the various hotels, and will be on a frequent schedule for return to hotels at the end of the evening.

Can I drive to the ceremony and reception?

There is very limited parking at the ceremony and reception location. If you cannot take the shuttles and need to drive to the location, please let us know in advance so we can make arrangements.

Baja Travel Tips

What will the weather be like?

The weather in Todos Santos in December will be sunny and warm, with temperatures ranging between 65ºF and 80ºF (or 18ºC to 26ºC).

Since it is a desert climate, it will cool off significantly in the evening — so plan to bring a light jacket, sweater, or other garments to stay cozy once the sun goes down.

Will I need to know Spanish?

Many people in Baja speak English — especially in Todos Santos, which has a large ex-pat community from the US and Canada. You will even find that many of the signs are in English.

If you don't speak Spanish, we suggest just saying “Hola”, and asking if they speak English. You can find some helpful travel-related Spanish tips here.

Will I need to exchange money for Mexican Pesos?

Most places in Baja will accept US Dollars alongside Mexican Pesos — and we suggest having some of both on-hand while traveling.

If you want to have local currency immediately upon arrival, you can exchange cash at Los Cabos airport or withdraw from the airport ATMs. However, please note that the exchange rate and airport ATM fees are usually high. You will get the best exchange rate from a bank ATM (they have an English language option). There are two bank ATMs in Todos Santos — one at Banorte and one at Bancomer.

Many stores and restaurants will also accept credit cards. We suggest informing your bank or credit card companies that you will be traveling to Mexico before you leave for your trip.

You can find current exchange rate info here.

What are the customs for tipping?

Tipping customs are similar to those in the United States:

  • Coffee shop or taco stand — leftover change or 20 pesos ($1)

  • Restaurant — 15-20% on food and drinks (check that service charge wasn't already added)

  • Bar — 20 pesos ($1) per drink, or 15% of a bar tab

  • Skycaps/Baggage Handlers — 20 pesos ($1) per bag

  • Housekeepers — 40-100 pesos ($2-5)

  • Taxi Drivers — it is not customary to tip a taxi driver, unless he or she provides excellent service, or handles your bags.

  • Tour Guides — 10-15% of tour fee.

If you're curious about how to say "tip" in Spanish, it's "la propina".

How do I ask for the check?

In Mexico, it is considered rude for a waiter to bring out the bill before it has been requested. When you're ready for your check at a restaurant or cafe, simply say “La cuenta, por favor” (lah KWENtah, por fah-VORE) — or you can use the international symbol and pretend to write something on your palm :)
