Tips On Arrival at Los cabos Airport
When you arrive at Los Cabos Airport (SJD), you will need to fill out an Immigration Form and Customs Form.
Immigration
After exiting your plane, you will make your way to the Immigration Hall. We suggest filling-out your Immigration Form on the plane and moving quickly down the escalators, as the immigration line can often be long.
Pro Tip/Must Read: There is a separate immigration processing area at the far side of the Immigration Hall that has a wall of computer kiosks. This area is for families and those traveling in groups of 4 or more. BUT... we have found that if you ask nicely, the officers will often let travelers in groups of 2 or more go into this area. If you are able to do this, it will make the process much faster!
Important: Remember to hold onto your immigration receipt, as you will need to provide this when you leave Mexico, and you will have to pay a cash fine if you lose it.
Customs & Exit
After you pass through Immigration, you will enter the Baggage Claim area, then move on to Customs.
The Customs process is very straightforward and smooth — just don't bring in firearms, illegal drugs, fruit, or more than $10,000 in cash 😎
When you leave Customs, you will pass through sales room full of Timeshare Sellers and Transportation Company Representatives. JUST KEEP MOVING! These sales people will try to engage you in conversation, ask you about your travel plans, and even attempt to confuse you. AGAIN, JUST IGNORE THEM AND KEEP MOVING! Once you exit this room, you'll be at the exit of the airport and into the ground transportation area.

Transportation
The drive to Todos Santos takes just over an hour, and runs through beautiful desert and cactus fields. 🌵
Rental Car
You will find many options for car rentals at SJD Airport.
PLEASE NOTE:
Third party liability insurance is required by law in Mexico.
However, some rental car companies will quote you a low price that does not include this insurance fee.
As such, your final price might actually be much higher than your quote (especially if researching online).
WE RECOMMEND:
For transparent pricing, we recommend using these rental car companies who have a good reputation in Cabo:
ANOTHER INSURANCE TIP:
Check if your credit card company offers Collision Damage Waiver/Loss Damage Waiver coverage — this could save you from needing to purchase collision coverage when renting a car. (Make sure to check any fine print with credit card company)
BUS
There is premium bus that runs several times a day from SJD airport to downtown Todos Santos:
Pricing — 355 pesos each way (approx $17)
Times — Be sure to check website for schedule
You will need to reserve your ticket in advance on the website. The bus drops riders off in downtown Todos Santos. There is a taxi stand across the street from the bus station.

Another option to get to/from Todos Santos is to use a private car service.
